JOB TITLE: Community Social Services Director
DEPARTMENT: Hubbard County Social Services Department
HOURS PER WEEK: FT, exempt position (minimum of 40 hours/week, 8:00 to 4:30 p.m.)
SALARY RANGE: $78,786.86 (step 1) - $102,799.01 (step 10) annually DOQ, full benefit package
DUTIES: This position is responsible for the planning, managing, administering, coordination, monitoring, budgeting and reporting associated with the providing of Economic Assistance, Social Service and Transit programs operated by the county under the technical supervision of the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Hire, supervise and evaluate assigned staff, handling employee concerns and problems, administering discipline and other personnel actions for this department. Serve as liaison between the Agency, community groups, media, service providers and advisory committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years professional or technical supervisory experience in a public or private social services agency involving supervision of economic assistance or social service programs. A Master degree in social work, business administration or public administration may be substituted for one year of the supervisory experience requirement.
Considerable knowledge of fiscal management; knowledge of community resources; ability to write and speak effectively, ability to plan and organize work effectively; considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of human service administration; strong working knowledge of state, federal and local laws and regulations relating to human service programs; ability to supervise staff in a manner that will stimulate growth and development; ability to be creative and innovative; ability to delegate responsibility and to capitalize upon the strengths of individual staff members; ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with County Board, employees, vendors and other interest groups; skills in negotiation and conflict resolution; ability to analyze complex changes in laws, rules and regulations and respond accordingly; ability to listen and process the comments of others; ability to make sound decisions; and possess research and evaluation skills. Must have a current valid MN driver license or be capable of getting one prior to established hire.

JOB TITLE: PT Dispatcher/Jailer
DEPARTMENT: Sheriff’s Office
HOURS PER WEEK: Part time – Shifts may include days, nights, week days, weekends and/or holidays
SALARY RANGE: 10 step wage range w/expected start of $16.2599 progressing to 21.2154/hour
DUTIES: Dispatch Duties: Take and dispatch calls for the Sheriff’s Office, Police Departments, Ambulances, Fire Departments, DNR, State Patrol, etc. Answer 911 phone lines. Operate radios, coordinate communications between officers or other departments, dispatch backup personnel and/or vehicles, maintain radio logs, initiate required reports, general typing/paperwork and computer queries. Jail Duties: Intake/releases, searches, well-being checks, inmate escorts, feeding of inmates, and necessary jail reports. Other duties may be assigned by the Sheriff or Jail Administrator. Must be able to attend training and other courses as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have two years post secondary education or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred, be minimum of eighteen years of age and in good physical condition. Public relation skills are very important. Must be able to work well in an emergency situation and under stress, possess a valid MN drivers license and pass a physical examination. Computer skills required. A thorough criminal background check will be completed on all qualifying applicants. No felony convictions of record.
