Assistant County Veteran Service Officer

JOB TITLE:                                Assistant County Veteran Service Officer  

DEPARTMENT:                         Veteran Services

HOURS PER WEEK:                 Full time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

SALARY RANGE:                     $17.5640 (step 1) to $22.9170 (step 10) per hour, DOQ full benefit package (expected start wage $17.5640)
 

DUTIES:                                       To assist the Veteran Service Officer providing professional advocacy for veterans and their family members improving their quality of life as related to their eligibility for monetary and ancillary benefits from Federal, State, County and local programs.  Assist and take an active role in conduction veteran’s events within Hubbard County.  Enter data in the information management system.  Manage the Hubbard County deceased veteran's records and other duties as assigned.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Honorably Discharged Veteran with a Minnesota Driver’s License.   Applicant must have good communication skills and proficiency in use of PC’s (particularly Word and spreadsheets).

Hubbard County

University of Minnesota Extension Service – Office Assistant I

JOB TITLE:                              Office Assistant I

DEPARTMENT:                   University of Minnesota Extension Service – Hubbard Co.

HOURS PER WEEK:               Part time, Monday through Friday, 20 hours (TBD)

SALARY RANGE:                $11.2735 (step 1) to $14.7095 (step 10) per hour, (expected start wage $11.2735) prorated PTO & Holiday pay.

DUTIES:                                     Provide clerical and administrative support for the 4-H Program Coordinator, Extension Program Coordinator and other staff.  Provide customer service and program delivery to promote and support the educational programming of the University of Minnesota Extension and Hubbard County.    Perform computer functions including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data entry, desktop publishing, photo editing, and website updates. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:    Knowledge of office procedures.  Must have basic bookkeeping skills, proficient oral and written communication skills, and ability to multitask and work independently.  Experience teaching youth in non-formal settings, basic understanding of youth development principals.  Proficiency in the use of PC’s.
