The Cost and Funding of the Project
The county is committed to spending public taxpayer dollars wisely, and decisions such as making various improvements to our jail, law enforcement center, and government center were made with careful and intentional consideration.
The total project cost for all three facilities is estimated to be approximately $12.2 million, including all construction costs, permitting costs, site services, general conditions, furniture, professional services fees, and approximately $500,000 in contingency funds.
The financing is being coordinated with the retirement of a previous bond, which minimizes the impact to the existing county levy.
The county’s debt service is approximately 5% of the total county levy, which amounts to approximately $15 per year for each $100,000 of value for the average homeowner.
