PUBLIC NOTICE: Authorization of General Obligation Bonds Public Hearing - 9/17/24

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ON A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN AND ON THE INTENT TO ISSUE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS BY HUBBARD COUNTY, MINNESOTA, UNDER MINNESOTA STATUTES, SECTION 373.40

Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Hubbard County, Minnesota will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the County Board Room of the Hubbard County Government Center, 301 Court Avenue, Park Rapids, Minnesota, to provide an opportunity for the public to express their views concerning (i) the County’s Capital Improvement Plan for the years 2025 through 2029; and (ii) the County’s intent to issue general obligation capital improvement bonds in an amount not to exceed $3,000,000 (the “Bonds”), pursuant to the Capital Improvement Plan approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

The proceeds of the Bonds shall be used by the County to construct the following improvements, and to pay costs of issuance of and capitalized interest, if any, on the Bonds:

(i) County Government Center Improvements including:

a. Additional office space for the Attorney’s Office and for the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office on the first floor.

b. Locate the County Auditor/Treasurer on the first floor, creating efficiency for staff and easier access for the public.

c. Remodel of the second floor to provide more efficient work space and easier access for the public.

The Bonds and the interest thereon shall constitute general obligations of the County secured by the full faith and credit of the County. All persons interested may appear and be heard at the time and place set forth above.
