The Application Process: Please furnish complete information so we may accurately and completely assess your qualifications. Applications may be rejected if they are incomplete or information is misleading. Online applications are stored on a secure site.

Job Alerts: Receive notification when new jobs are posted. Just below Hubbard County use the Search field or Filters to create a job alert. You will receive an email when new job postings are added that meet your criteria.

Veteran’s Preference: The Minnesota Veteran’s Preference Act (VPA) grants most veterans limited preference over non-veterans in hiring and promotion for most Minnesota public employment positions, as granted in Minnesota Statutes, Sections 43A.11, 197.455, 197.447, as amended.

Applicants must supply proof of applicable military status/eligibility, such as a DD214 and DD215 (if applicable) form, and other documents as required. This documentation must be received by the application deadline set forth in the job posting in order to be considered. You may attach this documentation to your application, email it to HR@co.hubbard.mn.us, fax it to 218.732.2321, or mail it to Hubbard County Human Resources, 301 Court Ave, Park Rapids, MN 56470.

Application Deadline: The application deadline is stated in each job posting. The application and all documents (i.e. Veteran’s Preference documentation) must be received by the closing deadline. Late application documents will not be considered. The Human Resources Department is not responsible for failure of other agencies, internet service providers or postal services to forward materials by the posting deadline. All documents submitted in support of an application becomes the property of Hubbard County. When submitting documents, be sure to include your name and the job title.

The Hiring Process: Each job posting contains information on the duties and qualifications of the position. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are then scored based on the preferred qualifications of the position.

The scoring of applicants will consist of ratings on the education and work experience as presented in the application submitted. Applications are scored on a 100-point scale. The recruiting process may include one or more of the following: application review and rating, performance test, written test, oral interview. 

Veteran’s Preference points are included in the score if the applicant:

• meets the definition of a “veteran” or is the eligible spouse of a “veteran”,

• completes the Veteran’s Preference question when applying for the position,

• meets the minimum qualifications of the position,

• submits the required proof of applicable military status/eligibility prior to the application deadline, and

• the claim for preference is approved.

Hubbard County uses email for all notices relating to the recruiting process. This email will come from no-reply@co.hubbard.mn.us. Remember to check your spam filter and “Junk” email folders, sometimes this email is incorrectly marked as spam. You may also log in to your account and review the status of your application.

An online system is used to schedule interviews.
